ISM Saddle Set up and Loving it!

Scott helped me put on my new ISM Peloton saddle last night. I watched this video which is a great help and shows pointers of what you should be doing. There are a few things to note, like the level of the rails under the saddle and the height.

My new ISM Adamo saddle on my Avanti Cadent

Below is the video to help you set it up correctly on your bike.

With my Avanti I couldn’t get the seat to go down enough at the front. But this was fine after I added a washer to the bolt under the seat to push it down further.

I went for my first ride on it last night for 2 hours 15mins. It was great! A little sore in different places but people say that’s just getting used to the change. It’s so much more comfortable when in the aerobars. I used to not spend much time in my aerobars thinking I was just a chicken. But yesterdays ride I must have spent more than 50% more time than usual in them. Amazing how much more comfortable it is.

I highly recommend getting one. Although that’s only my first ride – and it was only about 2 hours. I’ll keep this blog updated with how the following rides go.

Update - I went for another ride today after yesterdays ride. Today I did a swim / bike / run.

  • 45min swim including 3 x 8min race pace and 6min hard
  • 1hr 20min bike with 4 x 6 mins hard
  • 20min run

At first I was like – shit this is uncomfortable. I was quite sore in different places from yesterdays ride. But after only a few minutes I was back into it and loving it. I used my aerobars for even more today. Must have been about 80% of the ride at least – all except at the lights, roundabouts and one corner out in the country that I was chicken on. Can’t wait for the next ride.
