Canterbury Triathlon Age Group Athlete Award
Well I’m home from my month long trip around Europe and back to the shaky Christchurch. Time has just flown since I’ve been back! I hope people haven’t had too much damage from the earthquakes and that you are all ok.
I just want to thank everyone for all your help and support over the winter months. I really appreciate all your help motivation, I couldn’t have gone without all of you!
Canterbury Triathlon Awards – Female Age Group Athlete of the Year!
We had the Canterbury Triathlon Club awards evening on Saturday night. It was a lovely evening and I was lucky enough to come away with the award for Female Age Group Athlete of The Year. I’m so happy!

Budapest World Champs and Europe
I had an absolutely amazing time in Europe. Budapest was great, spending time with all the other NZ athletes was so much fun. I raced well and came 13th which I’m very happy with. All my times were faster than previous races even with the wet weather. I was expecting hot temperatures in Budapest and it was very disappointing!

What’s Next – Moving on Up
The year just been I was concentrating on Sprint distance triathlons, which is 750m swim / 20km bike / 5km run. This summer season I’ve decided to change my focus to the longer Standard / Olympic distance races. (1500m swim / 40km bike / 10km run)
I have chosen my races for the Summer:
Lake Hood Sprint Triathlon – Nov
Triathlon Festival in Christchurch – 19th Dec
Contact Series Triathlon in Christchurch – Jan
Triathlon Sprint Distance Nationals in Kinloch – Feb
Standard Distance Nationals in Wellington – March
World Champs Series race in Sydney – April 10th
There are many more of the world series races I’d love to do, including the grand final in China which is on the Olympic course.
Thanks especially to my boyfriend Scott for making me dinner while I train
and my coach G Force for lending me his ZIPP race wheels. yeeah!
