About Me

Date of Birth: 19/09/1980

Club: Canterbury Triathlon Club

Coach: Graham Park – Specialist Triathlon Coach

I’m a 29 year old living in Christchurch NZ. I work for hairyLemon, a great web company with a bunch of fantastic people. I love triathlons. I started in December 2009 with the aim of going to Triathlon World Championships in Budapest in Sept 2010. I went and absolutely loved it!

I’ve been around social sports events since I was a teenager, and it’s been an amazing experience. I’ve entered running races, triathlons, dualthlons and more recently ocean swim races largely because I love the feeling of accomplishment. I’d train, but just to keep fit enough to compete.

After competing in a few races in 2009 I made the decision that this is something I really want to put more effort into and give it a proper go rather than being half hearted. I’ve found a great triathlon coach, Graham Park, and started training with him since mid December 2009. My training went from 5-6 hours a week to about 11 – 15 hours a week and I really noticed improvements.

Triathlon is a sport I have so much passion for. My ambition for last year is to wind a medal at the world age group triathlon championships in Budapest in September. With the help of my coach and support from my partner, family and friends I put in the training hours to help reach my full potential.

After a year of sprint and olympic distance triathlons and watching my partner do many halfironman events and one ironman (Taupo). I have decided to step it up a level. I’m hoping to do the Tauranga Half Ironman in January 2012. WOohoo!
